|definition=Genesys Data Layer (GDL) is an infrastructure component for building data pipelines to transfer data between systems and applications. GDL is based on Apache Kafka distributed streaming platform. GDL is horizontally scalable based on the requirements, and fault tolerant data pipeline for the applications.  GDL is efficient partitioning model isolating producers from consumers. With GDL, producers can publish message without the necessity checking the acknowldgement of consumers consuming it. Intense data processing consumers can be separated from producer with a partition key. The data messages are stored as topics, and consumers can reterieve data using convenient APIs (Application Programming Interface).
