|definition=Genesys Data Layer (GDL) is an infrastructure component for building data pipelines to transfer data between systems and applications. GDL is based on Apache Kafka distributed streaming platform. GDL is horizontally scalable and fault tolerant data pipeline for the data intensive applications. GDL is an efficient partitioning model isolating producers from consumers. With GDL, producers can publish message without checking the acknowledgement of consumers consuming it. Intense data processing consumers can be separated from producer with a partition key.
