A content offer is a type of Altocloud action that triggers on a website when a user's behavior or segment matches to the criteria defined in an action map.

Prerequisites

Feature overview

Let's say you're doing travel research on a travel site. As you're about to leave the website in search of a better deal elsewhere, a pop-up window appears. It says that if you book now, you'll receive 10% off.

That's a content offer. And the point of a content offer is to engage you and then prompt you to take some sort of action (book a trip, in this example).

You use Genesys Predictive Engagement to build content offers for the scenario outlined above and for almost anything that requires a website visitor's buy-in or consent - for example, sign up for an event, subscribe to the newsletter, try a new product, and so on.

How it works

A content offer is a type of action that Altocloud can take to engage a customer and prompt action. You configure a content offer action in the same way you configure other types of actions in the View content offers. To set up a content offer:

  1. Create the content offer.
  2. Publish the content offer.
  3. Link the content offer to an action map.

Create the content offer

You create the content offer from the View content offers.

To create a content offer action:

  1. Go to Admin > Altocloud > Action Library.
  2. Click the Content offer tab.
  3. Click Create.
  4. On the Create Content Offer page, give the content offer a descriptive and meaningful name and description (for example, Spring Break Getaway Offer 2019).
  5. Next, define the content and design of your content offer, as described in the tables below.
After the content offer is created, it appears in the Content Offer section of the Action Library.

Define the content and style

Use the Content and Style tabs to define all elements of a content offer. As you define the content and style parameters, click Refresh to preview the content offer.

Close Button The opacity and color of the Close (X) button that appears in the top right corner of the content
Padding The padding either in pixels or as a percentage.

Publish the content offer

When you finish creating the content offer, click Save and publish to publish the content offer and make it available for use by an action map.
Important
You can't edit an action once it's published, so if you're not ready to publish the content offer, click Save as draft. You can change the status from Draft to Published later on.
For more information, see Save an action: draft or publish.

Link the content offer to an action map

After you publish a content offer, you must link it to an action map in order for your users to see it. The action map defines the conditions that trigger the content offer. You can either create a new action map or use an existing one. In either case, you'll need to configure the following fields within the action map:

  1. In the Select action field, click Configure.
  2. Select Content offer.
  3. Click Next.
  4. On the Select content offer page, select the content offer.
  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Action summary page, review the details of your content offer, including the following:
    1. Activation time - Immediately, Upon return to site, or Delay.
    2. Time range - the start and end date of the content offer.
For more information about these options, see Overview of actions. For more information about action maps, see About action maps

Manage a content offer

Once you've created a content offer, you can manage it in a number of ways:

Monitor a content offer's performance

Use the Action Map Performance report to monitor your content offers. The following table defines the available metrics for this report:

Metric Description
Web Actions Qualified Number of visitors who matched a segment, activity, or outcome score that triggered the action map.
Web Actions Offered Number of visitors to whom Genesys Predictive Engagement presented a content offer.

Note: When a visitor qualifies for an action map, it does not necessarily mean that Genesys Predictive Engagement offers them a content offer immediately. For example, Genesys Predictive Engagement does not offer a content offer if the visitor matches a segment for the action map, but is not on the webpage that triggers the content offer. Genesys Predictive Engagement also does not offer a content offer if there are no agents available. For more information, see Progression of web actions metrics.

Web Actions Accepted Number of visitors who accepted the content offer. These visitors are a subset of those to whom Genesys Predictive Engagement offered the content offer. For more information, see Progression of web actions metrics.
Web Actions Started Not applicable
Web Actions Engaged Not applicable
Web Actions Rejected Number of visitors who dismissed or rejected the content offer. These visitors are a subset of those to whom Genesys Predictive Engagement offered the content offer.
Web Actions Errored Number of visitors who experienced an error while being offered the content offer. This can happen before or after the content offer appears.
Web Actions Timed Out Not applicable
